It is the rainy season in OH-IO, and it is both nice, and annoying.  Nice because, I can sit and knit listening to the rain pelt the house, with it's soft pattering all day.  It is also annoying because, I can't really go for a run until I get some water running shoes so, I knit....knit, knit, gives me consolation in a way. The Starting Line Looming Before the Run  So, I completed my first 5K.  I never thought I would do any type of run in a time situation outside of my two miles in the Army, or the 1.5 miles in the Air Force.  The military taught me a lot, one being never give up but, I gotta say, I struggled to complete my runs in the military, and now here I am voluntarily running a 5K, and I did it!

We were blessed with another perfect tiny human being, our youngest son Alton.   Remember the yarn from the previous post?  Well, here is it getting knit up, the colors are striping up in nice wide bands as planned and the transition is working out very well.  Clicking along to the Knee Highs.  They are coming along pretty quickly, and thank the knitting fairies for that.  After 3 test knits, and many bumps, the final project is under way, and going well.  YAY!

I have continued the socks.  Man-Cub is lucky in that he and the rest of the family get the spoils of anything I test knit.  I have been dying, and test knitting for several projects, one being socks/knee highs, and Man-Cub gets these.  So far, I have calculated 4 hours for A sock!!!  Goodness that is a long time.  Then again, the calculations could be wrong, because I am piecing chunks of time

Yes, fiber folks, that time has come and gone, and it was wonderful as every year!  Knitter’s Connection was very nice, a bit smaller but, no less amazing in it’s offerings.  The economy may have been part of the reason for the smaller size BUT, it did not effect the quality of the venue.  The fiber was amazing as always, the vendors were all very accommodating, and the layout was perfect!

12 hour work day and in between calls and the work that those welcomed calls create, I "create" with yarn.
